Where and how do I start to choose My 1st Guitar?

Deciding which guitar is best for you can be a little difficult, so in this guide we will try and help navigate you through the different areas to help you find your perfect guitar including...

    • What Type?
    • What Size?
    • What Colour?

    What Type:

At Sue Ryder our ranges cover Classical, Acoustic, and Electric Guitars

    Classical Guitars http://shop.sueryder.org/musical-instruments/guitars/classical-guitars.html

The Classical Guitar, is a nylon strung guitar with 6 strings. The Classical Guitar is unquestionably the most suitable for a starter guitar, especially for children. One of main reasons for this is the fact the nylon strings are much kinder on the fingers, and is the most comfortable for children to be playing.

The Classical Guitar is made from Linden Plywood. The strings are Nylon, and are available in a range of 2 different sizes and various colours. Besides the individual Classical Guitars, Sue Ryder also offer a Classical Guitar Pack in both Full and ¾ Size. The packs contain everything you need to get you started. Acoustic Guitars

    http://shop.sueryder.org/musical-instruments/guitars/acoustic-guitars.html

The Acoustic Guitar is a steel strung guitar with 6 strings. Whilst it is very suitable for starters, it’s worth bearing in mind that it does have steel strings and therefore can be a little harder on the fingers, especially in the beginning.

The Acoustic Guitar has been around for hundreds of years, in one format or another and is a great instrument for people of all ages and abilities.

The Acoustic Guitar is made from Linden plywood. The strings are steel and are available in a range of colours and 2 different sizes. As well as the individual Acoustic Guitars, Sue Ryder also offer a Full size Acoustic Guitar pack, that includes everything you need to get you started.

    Electric Guitars

The Electric Guitar has 6 steel strings, with pick ups and tone and volume controls. The Guitar is attached via a lead to an electronic amplifier, which acts as both an amplifier and a speaker to project the electronic sound coming from the Guitars pick ups.

The sound can be pretty loud, although this can be adjusted by the volume control on the amplifier and the Guitar.

The guitar is made of a solid wood body, with a rosewood finger board.

Sue Ryder offer a fantastic range of Electric Guitar accessories including Electric Guitar First Aid Kids, plectrums, replacement strings and a starter pack for beginners. http://shop.sueryder.org/musical-instruments/accessories/where/limit/all.html
